Terms for using EditableDocument

Free service and eligibility

EditableDocument provides free browser-based document utilities without an account or subscription. You are responsible for ensuring that you can legally agree to these terms and use the service where you live.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for your documents, your device, the results you download, and any decisions made using those results. Review converted or merged files before relying on them. Keep independent originals and backups. Do not assume that formatting, text order, pagination, or metadata will be preserved.

Prohibited uses

Do not use the service to violate law, infringe intellectual property or privacy rights, process documents you are not authorized to use, distribute malware, interfere with the website, bypass security controls, misrepresent generated output, or facilitate fraud, harassment, exploitation, or other harmful conduct.

Ownership and local processing

You retain whatever rights you hold in your documents and generated files. Selecting a file does not transfer ownership to EditableDocument. Processing occurs locally in the browser, and the service does not provide a server upload or permanent document-storage feature.

No guarantee of conversion accuracy

Document conversion is inherently imperfect. Scanned pages, columns, tables, fonts, encryption, comments, tracked changes, forms, signatures, floating objects, and complex layouts can be omitted, reordered, or simplified. The tools do not replace professional legal, financial, medical, archival, accessibility, publishing, or records-management review.

Availability and changes

The site may be unavailable, changed, limited, or discontinued without notice. Browser updates, device memory, library behavior, network delivery, or third-party services can affect availability. Features and file limits may change to protect reliability or comply with legal obligations.

Third-party advertising and links

Clearly labelled third-party advertising may support the free service after consent. Advertisers are responsible for their own claims, products, and destinations. An advertisement is not an endorsement and does not influence document output. External sites operate under their own terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms excludes a warranty that cannot legally be excluded.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, EditableDocument will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss; lost data, revenue, opportunity, or reputation; or decisions based on inaccurate output. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to these terms

Updated terms will be posted here with a revised date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
